Oh, this topic of Mental Health. It’s so encompassing and yet so very important in our everyday lives. As someone who’s dealt with depression and anxiety pretty much all her life (and I’m old, trust me), I get how taking care of your mental health should be a top priority.
One of the main reasons I started this blog was to prove that you can live with mental illness and still be happy. You can still find your bliss through the muddy waters of depression. And you can still find your bliss through the lightning storm of anxiety. And if you’ve ever dealt with PTSD, you can overcome it. Trust me, I know it seems impossible, but you can.
Chronic Depression
Being diagnosed as having “chronic depression” at the ripe young age of 21, I wasn’t buying it. There was something in my gut that told me that this diagnosis just didn’t “feel” right. And no, I wasn’t in denial. I just knew that despite what I had gone through in my childhood, chronic depression wasn’t going to be my life sentence. Even more so, I sure as hell wasn’t going to be on medication for the rest of my life, like this therapist had told me I would.
I decided right then and there that this diagnosis wasn’t going to control me, control my life, or control my happiness. And even though it took me over 10 years to figure out my own right path, I was determined not to let others feel defeated by their diagnosis either.
Knowing there had to be a way to actually cure depression and anxiety, I’ve spent the last several years testing different modalities and learning all about the research behind trauma healing.
Finding Real Happiness
I can now happily say that I live a life of bliss.
What does that mean exactly?
Well, it means that I’m happy with my life. I love who I am, who I’ve become and I’ve moved past my traumas and the blockages that depression and anxiety had on me and I’m finally living, REALLY living life.
Is every day perfect? Hellz nah! But that’s exactly how life goes.
Your life will never be perfect. And that’s totally ok.
You just need to work to get to the point where the good far outweighs the bad. You do this by…
- Consistency in choosing to live in higher vibe emotions daily.
- Building up your emotional resiliency to deal with issues as they come up (in a healthy way).
- Practice feeling high-vibe emotions to elevate your life to new realms of bliss.
I encourage you to dig deep and read up on my topics of anxiety, depression, self-care, PTSD, and mindset. Because they all play a part in how you can truly find your bliss. Plus, we’re adding new content all the time in an effort to help you on your journey, so be sure to check back often.
